Return To Dune

I've been re-reading some of my Dune books over the last couple weeks for comfort. Among the primary influences that have drawn me into the world of Dune in the past are the simple themes throughout the stories. Even more fascinating though is when you discover the paradox of each message. The simple ones have a deep complexity, and the complicated ones are actually very simplistic.
“To know the future is to be trapped by it.”
If you believe certain words, you believe their hidden arguments. When you believe something is right or wrong, true or false, you believe the assumptions in the words which express the arguments. Such assumptions are often full of holes, but remain most precious to the convinced.
